Operant Conditioning

This is where we take conditioning an extra step. We begin to not just learn through observation, but through action. All living beings learn to operate their environment through the ABCs.

Antecedent-Behavior-Consequence. The behavior is triggered, then we do the behavior, then we deal with the consequence of our behavior.

There are 4 consequences to any behavior, the 4 learning quadrants. This will determine the likelihood of the behavior happening again in the future.

Operant conditioning is happening all throughout life, in the background, we almost never even notice it. We pick up on what behaviors work for us, which don’t, and we control our environment.
