We have a wonderful new member of our farm family :) Chloe is handicapped, she was born with a rare brain disorder called Schizencephaly. She cannot walk or use her left hand. This past December she lost her eyesight, she is completely blind. With so much making her life difficult, animals have become a sanctuary for her. She loves spending time and getting to know all our animals, whether they have long fluffy ears or feathers she loves them. I think her favorites are Gray and Merrygold, our snuggly donkeys. She also got to spend time grooming Fable, combing out her mane and brushing all Fable's shedding hair onto her helper :p

Not only am i so happy to be able to offer this opportunity for such a special young lady, but i'm so proud of how our volunteers and animals responded. We've never trained our horses for things like wheelchairs, but they all just knew she is a friend, they eagerly met with her with loving curiosity. We are excited to see Chloe a few times a month when she's in the area and provide her so much needed animal snuggle time to brighten her days and ours with her genuine smile!

Next time Chloe will help teach some horses about playing pianos!
